The last two are printed on hemp/cotton and 100% hemp. I'm madly in love with hemp at the moment. It has such a gorgeous textural quality, a little more earthy than natural linen, but every bit as sophisticated.
Interested in using hemp fabric? Here are some bits of trivia about this much-misunderstood fibre:
- hemp is one of the strongest and most durable of the natural fibres
- it's use dates back 10,000 years to the beginning of pottery
- in Elizabethan times, farmers were fined for not growing hemp
- it grows well without fungicides or pesticides and produces a significantly larger crop than either cotton or flax (linen) when grown on the same land.
